They Draw and Travel is an online community that publishes curated collections of illustrated maps centering on various themes.

As part of this collection, I created a stylized map of Japan's Nakasendo Trail, an ancient post road that runs through the historically preserved towns of Tsumago and Magome. The complete road was created in Japan's feudal age, and ran between Kyoto and Tokyo. This map covers a portion of the trail; the full trail runs through small towns, valleys, mountains and forests, and can be walked over several days.
